3.2-magnitude earthquake felt in Paphos and Limassol

Tremor linked to ongoing seismic activity that began after stronger quakes in November, experts say.

A 3.2-magnitude earthquake was felt in parts of Paphos and Limassol on Thursday afternoon, Cyprus’ Department of Geological Survey said.

The quake struck at 1:25 p.m., with its epicenter in the wider Agia Marina Kelokedaron area, about 23 kilometers east of Paphos, at a depth of 25 kilometers, according to the department’s seismic network.

Officials said the tremor is linked to the ongoing seismic activity in the area that began after two stronger earthquakes, measuring 5.2 and 5.3, hit the region on November 12, 2025. Since then, more than 300 earthquakes have been recorded in the same area.

The department said the seismic sequence is developing normally but warned that additional felt earthquakes remain possible.

Updated information on seismic activity is published on the Seismological Centre’s official websites.
