Students in Larnaca sitting their Pancyprian exams this year won’t have to sweat, literally.
Air conditioning systems have now been installed and are fully operational in all high schools across the city and district of Larnaca, just in time for the nationwide examinations that kick off this Friday, June 6.
According to a statement by the Larnaca School Board, the air conditioners were installed in every exam hall across key schools, including Aradippou, Agios Georgios, Lefkara, Vergina, Livadia, Archbishop Makarios III, and the Pancyprian Lyceum of Larnaca.
Describing the project as a “race against the clock,” the board said the successful installation was the result of tight planning, coordination and dedication by everyone involved. Despite the short timeline, the systems were up and running right on schedule.
The school board expressed thanks to Education Minister Dr. Athena Michaelidou for her support in pushing the project forward, as well as to the engineers, technicians, and contractors who worked long hours to make it happen.
Acknowledgements also went to the Cyprus Electricity Authority, particularly its Larnaca director, for quick responses, the Examinations Service for smooth coordination, and local school administrations for their help on the ground.
With summer temperatures already climbing, the timely upgrade means students can now focus on their exams in a cool and comfortable environment.
