Authorities have carried out 195 deportations of foreign nationals between March 1 and April 23, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to tackle illegal residence and crime.
The Ministry of Justice and Public Order stated that coordination between government departments remains active, with the police and the Deputy Ministry of Migration and International Protection working together through joint planning and operations.
During the same period, officials recorded 729 voluntary departures. Authorities also made 204 arrests linked to illegal stay and unlawful employment. Those deported included individuals previously held in police detention facilities, the Central Prisons, and the pre-departure centre known as Limnes.
In parallel, 256 irregular arrivals were registered from the start of March.
Looking at a longer timeframe, from January 1 to April 23, the figures rise to 535 deportations, 2,052 voluntary departures, 578 arrests, and 529 irregular arrivals.
According to the ministry, these figures indicate that enforcement actions and migration management efforts are producing measurable results. Authorities plan to maintain the same level of operational activity, with a focus on public safety and maintaining order.
