A five-month-old baby has died in Limassol after being found unconscious at home by his mother on Tuesday evening.
According to police, the infant was discovered in his cot at around 8pm. He was taken to Limassol Hospital, where doctors confirmed that he had died despite efforts to revive him.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death. At this stage, there is no indication that the baby had suffered any external injuries.
An autopsy is expected to be carried out on Thursday morning at Nicosia Hospital to determine the exact cause of death and provide further information on the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The investigation remains ongoing pending the autopsy findings.
