Police are seeking to determine how a 69-year-old man died after he was discovered in the sea off Mazotos on Thursday morning.
According to Larnaca police spokesman Spyros Chrysostomou, the man's body was found floating roughly five metres from the shoreline. The discovery was made by the owner of a nearby property, who alerted the authorities.
Officers from Kiti Police Station attended the location and began initial inquiries. The deceased has been identified as a 69-year-old man.
Investigators have not yet established the circumstances surrounding the death. Further information is expected following a post-mortem examination, which will be carried out to establish the exact cause of death.
