A local man has been sentenced to ten years in prison after he was found guilty in sex molestation case against two minors.

The defendant, described as a 42-year-old male from Limassol, was arrested in December 2017 in connection with sexual abuse and molestation of two children, a 12-year-old girl and a 10-year-old boy.

A Limassol criminal court found the defendant guilty of sexually abusing and sexually molesting the young girl, while media reports said some of the charges in connection with the boy’s case were later dropped.

The man committed the crimes between 2015 and 2017, according to a police report. On Monday, a panel of judges handed down the sentence which begins from the time the man was remanded back in December 2017.
