A commotion erupted at the Limassol Court on Tuesday morning, January 21, when a prisoner attempted to escape.
According to reports, a 39-year-old Greek man, arrested on charges of burglary and theft, requested to speak with his lawyer while being escorted into the courtroom. He then made an attempt to escape through a court window.
The arrested man was promptly intercepted by members of the police force.
The suspect faces charges for the theft of property valued at approximately €2,000 and the damage to the ventilation system of the building he allegedly broke into, estimated at approximately €1,000.
The 39-year-old is also a suspect in a separate case involving the theft of a coin box worth €3,000 from a public car park in Limassol.
