Two teenagers were injured on Tuesday in Paphos after a car struck them while one boy was pushing a shopping cart with the other inside.
Police said they were investigating a road incident in Kato Paphos, where a vehicle struck two 14-year-old boys, with the car driving off and the two teens rushed to the Emergency Room.
Local media said a car was moving along Kato Pervolion Street Tuesday evening around 8:20pm, when it struck under unclear circumstances the two boys, one whom was pushing a supermarket buggy with the other teen inside the cart.
The vehicle in question fled the scene while an ambulance rushed the two boys to the ER at Paphos General Hospital, where doctors treated one of them for minor injuries while the other was seriously injured.
According to local media, doctors on duty said the seriously injured teen was out of immediate danger, after having sustained a head injury, a fractured pelvis, a broken leg, while he also had cracked bones in his ribs.
Police later described the car in question as a blue Opel and asked members of the public to contact authorities if they have any information about the incident or the driver's whereabouts.
It was not clear whether the seriously injured teen was pushing the buggy at the time of the incident or who was inside the cart.
