Developments have arisen regarding the serious incidents that occurred two years ago, specifically on February 13, 2021, during the march of the "Os Dame" group. They took to the streets of the capital to protest against corruption and the measures taken against the coronavirus.
According to information, the cases of two police officers, following a decision by the Prosecutor General to prosecute them criminally, were filed recently before the Nicosia District Court.
The two officers are facing charges of abusing power and engaging in harsh and inhumane treatment.
As clarified by a police source, the aforementioned criminal charges are not related to the severe injury of the young Anastasia from the use of force. It's worth noting that no responsibility was found against the anti-riot police vehicle, as it operated according to protocols.
Furthermore, four police officers are being disciplined for the case.
It is recalled that an investigation was conducted by the Independent Authority for the Investigation of Allegations and Complaints against the Police (IAIACP).
