The "Digital Citizen" application is now accessible to individuals aged 14 and above.
According to an official announcement, the digital copies of official documents generated through the "Digital Citizen" app are fully equivalent to their printed counterparts.
As a result, it is stated that during an identity verification process, citizens can present the digital document via the app instead of the physical version, and it will be accepted without exceptions.
The "Digital Citizen" app is available for iOS and Android devices through the Apple and Google stores.
To use the application, users must create and verify a profile through CY Login. Account registration is conducted electronically via https://cge.cyprus.gov.cy/, while the verification process for minors can be completed by appointment at Citizen Service Centers (KEP), either in person or via video call through the MyGovLive service (www.mygovlive.gov.cy). In both cases (physical or online appointment), the minor must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who must present identification.
It is important to note that digital documents created through the application are not recognized as international travel documents.
The creation of digital copies is permitted only if the citizen legally possesses the corresponding original certificate.
