Today is looking mostly clear for the majority of the island. However, the mountains and eastern regions are prone to a bit of afternoon cloud development, which might lead to the occasional isolated shower. We start with light, variable winds that will eventually commit to a southwesterly to northwesterly direction. If you’re on the southern coast, expect things to get a bit friskier with gusts reaching 5 Beaufort. The sea, meanwhile, is staying on its best behavior, calm to slightly rough.
The thermostat is showing it’s a classic Cyprus spring day. Inland will hit 25°C, while the west coast stays cooler at 21°C. The rest of the coastline sits at a comfortable 23°C, and the higher mountains are keeping things a brisk 15°C.
Tonight will be mostly clear, though a light mist might decide to visit inland and eastern areas during the early hours. It’s not quite a pea-souper, but enough to make your early morning commute feel a little more cinematic.
The weekend lead-in
Thursday: A near-repeat of today. Mostly clear skies with a few stubborn clouds gathering over the mountains after midday to drop a sprinkle or two.
Friday: High-altitude clouds will start to filter the sun, followed by mid-level cloud cover. This brings a chance of isolated showers and, as promised, the arrival of that atmospheric dust.
Saturday: We start with a bit of a cloud ceiling, but the island should gradually clear up. The mountains remain the favorite spot for any lingering showers.
The temperature verdict: We are sticking to the seasonal script. No wild swings are expected through Saturday, with temperatures remaining right where they usually are for late April. It’s pleasant, it’s predictable, and it’s perfectly fine for a pre-dust weekend.
