The wealthy businessman regularly visits Greece, and especially Messinia, where he owns property in Koroni. The summer residence of the magnate is built on an area of about 40 acres next to the village of Vasilitsi, hence the name of the company Vasilitsi DIY Ltd, which he created specifically for the acquisition of Superhome DIY.
The multimillionaire cement manufacturer in 2013 held the 175th position in the global list of "Forbes" and at the same time the 22nd position among the richest Russians. He has remained steadily on the same list for the last 8 years, as his fortune ranges between 1.5 and 2.1 billion dollars, while the value of his assets, including his companies, exceeds 6.7 billion dollars.
Today his group, Eurocement Group, is the largest cement producer in Russia, while Kaltsidis and his family are active in various sectors, such as coal trade, fertilizers, shipping, real estate, etc.
He was born on May 26, 1963 in Tarsos, Tsalka region of Georgia, is of Pontian descent, holds a doctorate in Economics and studied mining engineering at the Moscow Mining Institute. In 2000, in cooperation with the businessman Sergei Generalov, he bought the Krasnoyarsk Coal Company at auction. In 2002, the company was sold, and the money received by Filaretos was invested in the purchase of Eurocement, which was later renamed Eurocement Group. In 2005 he proceeded to acquire cement plants, making him the largest cement producer in Russia.
It is worth noting that the new owner of Superhome Center DIY is planning to expand the stores within and outside of Cyprus. As "K" had written, the new investor's immediate plans include opening stores in Limassol and Paralimni, as well as opening a warehouse in Nicosia. In addition, Mr. Kaltsidis plans to strengthen and upgrade the website of the stores in order to boost online sales for all products.
