17 repatriation flights leave Cyprus today to help Israelis get home

Cyprus helps evacuate passengers to Israel and Jordan as tensions rise in the region

Cyprus is once again playing a key role in the region, with 17 special repatriation flights scheduled on Wednesday to help transport Israeli nationals back home, as tensions continue to simmer in the Middle East.

According to information from the Cyprus News Agency (CNA), flights began departing from Larnaca Airport as early as 6 a.m. The operation includes four flights to Tel Aviv, nine to Haifa, three to Aqaba in Jordan, and one to Amman.

However, not all flights went ahead as planned. Several scheduled routes to Tel Aviv and Haifa, operated by two Israeli airlines, were reportedly canceled at the last minute.

Authorities say the situation remains fluid, with flight plans subject to change depending on developments in the region. Cypriot officials remain on alert as they continue to coordinate with neighboring countries and assist in ongoing evacuation efforts.

Cyprus has been serving as a safe transit hub since the crisis began, thanks to its proximity and well-established emergency response protocols.
