A blaze that broke out in the early hours of Thursday in the Agia Fyla area of Limassol destroyed five vehicles, damaged two others, and caused structural damage to an apartment building.
The fire was reported at around 2:20 a.m., with nearby residents also reporting explosions coming from the building’s parking area.
The flames quickly spread, prompting authorities to evacuate the building. Thankfully, no injuries were reported.
Firefighters managed to bring the fire under control, but not before it left behind a trail of destruction. Damage to parts of the apartment building was also recorded, though the extent is still being assessed.
The cause of the fire is under investigation, and officials have not yet ruled out foul play.
Despite the incident, the Limassol Vocational Training Institute, which operates in the area, confirmed that scheduled exams are continuing as normal.
Police and fire services are urging residents to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity in the area.
