Dozens of flights continue to be canceled in Cyprus

38 arrivals and departures canceled Monday at Larnaca International Airport, affecting routes to Israel, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates.

Flights between Cyprus and several Middle Eastern countries were thrown into chaos Monday, with 38 flights canceled at Larnaca International Airport as tensions across the region continue to disrupt air travel.

Airport data showed that 19 incoming flights and 19 departures were scrapped throughout the day. The cancellations affect routes operated by several airlines traveling to and from destinations in the Middle East, including Israel, Lebanon and the United Arab Emirates.

The disruptions come as airlines continue adjusting routes and schedules amid the ongoing instability in the region, which has already forced multiple carriers to suspend or delay flights.

Airport authorities are urging travelers scheduled to fly today to check directly with their airline or travel agent before heading to the airport, as flight schedules could change with little notice.

Cyprus has increasingly become a key transit hub for travel between Europe and the Middle East, meaning developments in the region often ripple quickly through the island’s two main airports. With tensions still high, further disruptions cannot be ruled out in the coming days.
