Flight disruptions continued at Larnaca Airport on Wednesday, with dozens of arrivals and departures canceled as airlines adjust schedules amid the ongoing situation in the Middle East.
According to Cyprus airport operator Hermes Airports, a total of 24 arriving flights scheduled between 5:30 a.m. and 11:05 p.m. were canceled. Another 24 departing flights, planned between 5:30 a.m. and 11:20 p.m., were also called off.
The cancellations come as several major European airlines temporarily suspend routes to and from Cyprus due to regional uncertainty affecting air travel.
Among the carriers that have halted flights are British Airways, Lufthansa, EasyJet and Austrian Airlines, impacting connections with countries including Germany, the United Kingdom and Austria.
Travel plans disrupted
Passengers arriving at the airport throughout the day faced changing schedules and last-minute adjustments, with many flights either canceled outright or removed from airline timetables.
Airlines across Europe have been reassessing routes in recent days, particularly those passing through or near airspace affected by regional tensions. Aviation authorities often take such steps as a precaution when security conditions or flight paths become uncertain.
Advice for passengers
Airport officials are urging travelers not to head to the airport without first confirming the status of their flight.
Passengers with upcoming trips are advised to contact their airline or travel agent directly for the latest updates, as schedules may continue to change at short notice.
