In a significant move toward digital transformation, Cyprus inaugurated the e-justice information system on Monday, enabling the electronic registration of documents throughout the judicial process. The system aims to streamline operations for judges, registrars, and lawyers.
Deputy Minister of Research, Innovation, and Digital Policy, Philip Hadjizacharias, emphasized the importance of this step in Cyprus's digital evolution. He announced the pilot phase of the new e-Justice system, commencing on December 18, 2023, with the anticipation of a finalized solution by February 2024.
"We have worked meticulously and collaboratively with the Bar Association and the Supreme Court to deliver an easily accessible, simplified, and efficient justice system for both citizens and legal professionals, catering to their digital needs," stated the Deputy Minister.
Law Commissioner Louisa Christodoulides-Zannetou added in a statement that this long-awaited development, coupled with new civil procedure rules implemented since September 2023, marks a substantial reform era for the justice system in Cyprus, aiming for expedited justice delivery.
