Tensions erupted outside AEK Arena in Larnaca on Thursday evening as supporters of AEK Larnaca and Israel's Beitar Jerusalem clashed ahead of their UEFA Conference League qualifying match.
A video shared by an Israeli media outlet on social media appears to show a group of people attacking a Beitar supporter outside the stadium before kick-off.
There was also a brief confrontation between fans of the two teams inside the stadium shortly before the match began, although the situation was quickly brought under control.
Police said one Beitar Jerusalem supporter was arrested following the incidents outside the stadium. According to authorities, the fan was taken into custody for allegedly insulting a police officer.
The circumstances surrounding the clashes are under investigation.
