The search for a missing Colombian tourist in the collapsed building in Germasogeia has ended in tragedy, with officials confirming she was among those who lost their lives.

Colombian consular authorities have now informed the family that the 27-year-old woman, identified as Leonela Aleman Morales, was killed in the building collapse in Limassol.

The news brings a painful end to days of growing anxiety for her relatives, who had been pleading for answers since the structure came down and they lost all contact with her.

Morales, originally from Barranquilla, had been traveling in Europe and was staying in Cyprus at the time of the incident. She had been living in a property in Limassol, and her family said they had not heard from her since the day of the collapse.

Her disappearance had drawn attention after mobile phone data reportedly placed her in the area of the disaster site, prompting renewed concern and a fresh search effort in the rubble days after the initial rescue operation.

Colombian media reported that her family made repeated appeals to authorities, hoping for good news that never came.

Instead, they were faced with confirmation that she was one of the victims.

The building collapse, which has already claimed multiple lives, continues to raise difficult questions about safety checks and emergency response in the aftermath of the disaster.
