Paphos police hunt for culprit in dog trapping tragedy

Illegal device claims life of innocent canine

The Paphos Police Department is actively investigating a distressing case involving the killing of a dog trapped in an illegal device. According to Michael Nicolaou, the Paphos CID Head and spokesperson for the Paphos Police Department, a 30-year-old woman reported the incident at Stubios police station on Sunday at 19:30.

Following extensive examinations, the Paphos Police have gathered testimonies implicating a 56-year-old man responsible for setting up the illicit wire trap, which ultimately led to the tragic demise of the woman's wandering dog.

A necropsy will be carried out on the deceased dog, and vital pieces of evidence have been collected in the ongoing investigation.

An arrest warrant has been issued for the 56-year-old suspect, who is currently sought by authorities.
