A yellow warning for high temperatures will be in effect Tuesday from noon to 5 p.m., as the ongoing heatwave shows no signs of letting up. Temperatures are forecast to hit 40°C (104°F) again, marking another day of extreme heat.
Meteorologist Andreas Chrysanthou, speaking Monday on the program Diaspora Eidiseon, said temperatures in the 40s are expected to persist throughout the week, with elevated humidity levels adding to the discomfort.

A seasonal low-pressure system and a warm air mass continue to affect the region.
On Tuesday, skies will be mostly clear. Winds will blow from the southwest to northwest, starting out light to moderate at 3 to 4 Beaufort and increasing to moderate to strong at 4 to 5 Beaufort. Gusts may reach very strong levels of 6 Beaufort along windward coastal areas. Seas will be slightly to moderately rough.
Highs will reach 40°C inland, 32°C along the western coast, around 36°C on other coastal areas, and 31°C in the mountains.
Overnight, conditions will remain mostly clear, though some low clouds may form early in the morning. Winds will shift mainly from the southwest to northwest, blowing at 4 Beaufort before easing to 3 Beaufort. Seas will be slightly rough. Lows will drop to around 23°C inland and along the coasts, and 20°C in the mountains.
The heat is expected to continue through Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, with mostly clear skies and temperatures remaining well above seasonal averages.
