Two injured in Limassol random shootings

Man and woman on motorbikes were random targets injured by pellet gun

Newsroom

Police are investigating two separate shooting incidents in Limassol after two people on motorbikes were injured in the Enaerios area.

A male motorist rode his motorcycle to the Emergency Room at Limassol General Hospital on Thursday night, about half an hour past midnight, following an injury he sustained while riding his motorbike.

Following medical examinations at the hospital, it was determined that both individuals were injured by air gun pellets

He reportedly told doctors that while he was riding his motorbike he felt a sudden pain in the leg but had no clue what had happened.

Shortly after, in a separate incident, a female passenger on a motorcycle was also injured under similar circumstances. The male motorist was not injured in that case, according to local media.

Following medical examinations at the hospital, it was determined that both patients were injured by pellets possibly shot from an air pistol.

Police did not issue a report about the incident but confirmed with Knews that two individuals, described only as a male and a female, reported separately they were targeted at 1am and 3am respectively in the Enaerios area.

A law enforcement official said the two victims appeared to have been hit randomly but declined to say whether he believed they were targets.
