Newsroom
Limassol is alive with the hum of conversation, creativity, and the unmistakable rustle of pages. The fourth annual Limassol International Book Fair opened yesterday, Friday 21 November, and continues through tomorrow, Sunday 23 November, transforming the city’s historic Carob Mills into a vibrant hub for readers, writers, and publishers from Cyprus, Greece, and around the world.
Organized by Anna Ioannidou and publisher Haris Ioannides, the Fair has quickly become a cultural landmark, combining literary exploration with professional networking and international exchange. From its very first edition, the Fair has demonstrated the Cypriot public’s deep appetite for books and cultural dialogue, and this year is no exception.

Yesterday’s highlights: Professional insights and networking
The Professional Conference, which began Friday, showcased 36 speakers from eight countries, exploring topics from libraries’ evolving roles to artificial intelligence in publishing, and translation as a cultural bridge. Panels and talks delved into Cyprus’s emerging position as a publishing hub in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Attendees explored how AI is reshaping book creation and translation, engaged with children’s publishing trends, and participated in discussions about the future of libraries both locally and across Europe. The day concluded with a Beaujolais Nouveau Night hosted by the Alliance Française, offering an elegant literary-meets-cultural networking experience.
Today: A full day of events for all ages
Saturday, 22 November, promises a packed program for both professionals and the general public. Highlights include:
B2B Networking and Limassol Networking Meetings (12:00–14:00, Stage 5): Publishers, literary agents, and cultural organizations gather for targeted discussions and spontaneous meetings.
Cyprus as a Hub for Culture and Investment (11:00–12:00, Stage 5): Exploring cultural ties and publishing prospects between Cyprus, the Arab world, and Europe.
Translation, AI, and Children’s Literature Workshops: From hands-on sessions with literary translators to discussions on AI-assisted publishing and writing for young audiences, there is something for every book enthusiast.
The Fair is also open to general visitors throughout the day, featuring over 120 events including author talks, panel discussions, and interactive activities across six stages. International authors such as Caryl Ferey, Stéphane Carlier, and Lucy Fricke are among the many voices engaging with readers today.

Looking ahead: Tomorrow’s closing day
Sunday, 23 November, the Fair will culminate in more book presentations, workshops, and performances for children and adults alike. Attendees can continue exploring Cyprus and international titles, meet authors, and experience the vibrant multicultural spirit that defines Limassol.
Love reading!
Over the past four years, the Limassol International Book Fair has grown from a local cultural initiative into a major platform for literature, innovation, and collaboration. It brings together communities that might not otherwise intersect, Cypriot, Russian, Arab, Ukrainian, and European readers and professionals, fostering dialogue and co-creation. The Fair also strengthens the local book market, supporting both Greek and Cypriot publishers, while offering international exposure.
The Limassol Book Fair is more than an event, it’s a cultural celebration. And the best part is that there’s still plenty of time to experience it this weekend.
