The American Medical Center (AMC)/American Heart Institute (AHI) is expanding its presence in Limassol with a new private hospital, marking a significant milestone as the institution celebrates its 25th anniversary, according to a report by Anna Polyviou.
The new facility will be located in the heart of Limassol, across from the Police Headquarters. AMC Limassol aims to become one of the region’s largest and most advanced private hospitals. The hospital, designed by award-winning architects, will cover 12,900 square meters, meeting high energy efficiency standards and incorporating renewable energy sources. It will feature 70 beds, designed to meet patients’ needs, mirroring the capacity of AMC Nicosia.
Dr. Marinos Sotiriou, AMC Co-Founder and Cardiothoracic Surgeon, emphasized that the new hospital will remain outside the General Healthcare System (GESY), maintaining AMC’s culture of providing high-quality private medical services. "We want to keep the culture of a private hospital that people will choose for its high-quality medical services," he stated.
Since its inception in 1999, AMC has evolved from a specialized Cardiology Center into a Model Private Hospital, offering a wide range of medical, scientific, and surgical services. The center is known for its commitment to advanced medical technologies, innovative treatments, and eco-friendly practices. AMC is a multi ISO-certified institution, recognized for its reliability and excellence.
AMC currently serves over 70,000 patients annually, performing more than 5,000 procedures, and employs 400 staff members. The expansion to Limassol represents a significant development in AMC's ongoing mission to provide top-tier medical care in Cyprus.
