In a recent meeting between Cyprus's Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Environment, Petros Xenophontos, and China's Ambassador to Cyprus, Liu Yantao, the two nations solidified plans to sign two new Cooperation Protocols.
The protocols aim to facilitate the export of fishery products, fish farming products, and honey from Cyprus to China. This decision underscores the enduring strong relations between the countries, with both parties expressing a commitment to enhancing their collaboration.
The upcoming Protocols signify a milestone in the long-term efforts by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development, and Environment to bolster commercial ties, opening fresh opportunities for the export of these products.
Cyprus already has similar Protocols covering dairy products and citrus fruits, and the new agreements are anticipated to further diversify and expand the commercial relationship between the two nations.
Presently, Cyprus exports products like halloumi, fruit juices, wine, and zivania to China. The Chinese Ambassador expressed gratitude for the constructive meeting and affirmed the ongoing cooperation in agricultural, rural development, and environmental matters between Cyprus and China.
