Paphos set to sparkle with ''La Traviata'' at the Aphrodite Festival

Get ready for a weekend of dazzling culture and captivating music as Paphos prepares to host one of its most anticipated events of the year! The medieval charm of Kato Paphos Castle will be transformed into a grand stage for Giuseppe Verdi's iconic opera, "La Traviata," as part of the 22nd Pafos Aphrodite Festival.

Everything is in place for the curtain to rise on this spectacular two-day event. The sets are set, the cast is rehearsing tirelessly, and the Cyprus Symphony Orchestra is ready to bring Verdi's masterpiece to life. The festival kicks off on Friday, September 6, and continues through Saturday, September 7, with performances starting at 7:30 p.m. each evening.

Since its inception in 1999, the Pafos Aphrodite Festival has become a cornerstone of Cyprus's cultural scene, renowned for its high-quality productions and grandeur. This year’s revival of the festival promises to live up to its reputation, celebrating its role as a leading independent cultural institution in the country.

The event is supported by a range of esteemed sponsors, including the Deputy Ministry of Culture, OPAP Cyprus, and the Bank of Cyprus. Communication sponsors like the Cyprus Radio Foundation, Phileleftheros, Love Radio, and Channel Six are helping to spread the word, while Kanika Hotels & Resorts is ensuring guests experience top-notch hospitality.

Tickets for this cultural extravaganza range from €35 to €90 and can be purchased via Ticket Master online or at ACS Courier stores. With limited availability, it's advisable to secure your tickets soon to avoid missing out on this extraordinary experience.

To ensure a smooth experience for all attendees, the Paphos Municipality has put in place special arrangements. Checkpoints will be established on Apostolou Pavlou Avenue and Poseidonos Avenue to guide drivers and manage traffic. Festival-goers are encouraged to park in designated areas near the port and follow directions from traffic officers.

Non-ticket holders will be restricted from entering the port area from 6:30 p.m. onwards. Alternative parking is available at various nearby locations, including the Amavi Hotel parking area and the Church of Agioi Anargyroi.

With meticulous planning and an exciting lineup, the Pafos Aphrodite Festival is set to offer an unforgettable celebration of opera in one of Cyprus's most picturesque settings.
