A tragedy occurred in a coastal area of Protaras on Wednesday (26/07).
According to information from the police, a 25-year-old asylum seeker who was at the beach for swimming was found floating unconscious under circumstances that are being investigated.
An ambulance promptly arrived at the scene and transported the 25-year-old to Ammochostos General Hospital, where the attending doctors confirmed his death.
The exact causes that led to the death of the 25-year-old will be determined by the authorized autopsy, which will be conducted on his body.
