Calm skies, mild winds

High pressure system brings fair weather

Newsroom

Weak high pressure has settled in over our area, ushering in a relatively calm weather pattern. Today, we can expect intermittent high clouds, with prevailing winds coming mainly from the northeast to southeast.

These winds will be light to moderate, ranging from 3 to 4 Beaufort, and northwest winds of similar strength will prevail in the western regions. The sea conditions will be slightly rough.

Temperature-wise, the day will be warm with highs reaching 33 degrees in the interior, around 31 degrees along the south and east coasts, approximately 29 degrees on the west and north coasts, and a cooler 23 degrees in the higher mountainous areas.

As we transition into the evening, intermittent high clouds will persist. There's a possibility of thin fog and low clouds forming locally, primarily during the morning hours.

The prevailing winds will shift to mainly northwest to northeast, remaining light at 3 Beaufort. Sea conditions will range from calm to slightly rough.

Temperatures will gradually drop, with nighttime lows of around 17 degrees inland, approximately 18 degrees along the coast, and a cooler 16 degrees in the higher mountainous regions.

Looking ahead to Friday and the upcoming weekend, the weather is expected to be predominantly clear. While no significant temperature changes are anticipated over this three-day period, we can look forward to pleasantly warm conditions, which will continue to exceed the average for our climate.
