The Republic of Cyprus has contributed €380,000 to the Committee on Missing Persons in Cyprus (CMP), providing additional support for the organisation’s ongoing humanitarian work.

The contribution was formalised during a signing ceremony attended by the CMP’s Greek Cypriot Member, the CMP’s United Nations Member, the head of UNDP Cyprus, and Presidential Commissioner Marios Hartsiotis on behalf of the Republic of Cyprus.

Following the latest donation, the Republic of Cyprus’ total financial support to the CMP has reached €4,772,700. This places the government among the committee’s leading contributors, second only to the European Union.

The funding will assist the CMP in its efforts to locate missing persons, identify recovered remains and return them to their families. The committee continues its work across the island, helping relatives obtain answers regarding the fate of loved ones who disappeared during past periods of conflict.

UNDP Cyprus expressed its gratitude for the government’s continued backing of the CMP and its commitment to supporting the committee’s humanitarian activities.
