Former Supreme Court judge denies shocking rape allegations

Michalis Christodoulou calls claims “vile slander,” pledges full cooperation with police as investigation heats up.

A former Supreme Court judge has strongly rejected shocking public accusations linking him to sexual assault, calling them “vile slander” and saying he is ready to cooperate fully with authorities.

Michalis Christodoulou spoke out after journalist Makarios Drousiotis publicly implicated him in alleged scandals, including claims of rape. In an emotional phone interview on OMEGA’s Enimerosi Tora show, Christodoulou insisted these allegations are false and that his personal and family life has been irreversibly disturbed by the claims.

“This is the last time I’ll speak publicly,” he said. “I’ve done this before because I wanted to make sure the authorities had everything.”

Strong reaction to sexual assault claims

Christodoulou expressed outrage at the rape accusations. “This man is accusing me of rape… Do you realize I have three children? The person he claims I assaulted—do you understand that? I couldn’t take it,” he said.

He described the emotional toll of seeing such claims unfold in public. “Imagine sitting on your couch and seeing your name dragged through allegations of rape. It’s unbearable,” he added, pointing out that his wife would never stay with him if the accusations were true.

About “Sandy”

The former judge confirmed knowing a woman identified by the pseudonym “Sandy,” but presented a very different story. He said she approached him in 2020–2021, introducing herself as from his hometown and wanting to get to know him. “She is a single mother struggling for her child,” he said.

Christodoulou also dismissed claims about messages allegedly exchanged between them, insisting they never came from his phone and expressing confidence that the police can verify the truth with modern technology.

Cooperating with authorities

The ex-judge said he is pushing for the investigation to move quickly. “I requested yesterday to testify, and I’m waiting today. I’m pressing them to set a time and place,” he said, pledging to hand over all his communication devices, including his mobile phone.

He also denied knowing any of the political figures involved in the case personally. “I don’t know them. I’ve never exchanged messages or greetings with them,” he said.

Christodoulou concluded by describing the impact on his family: “My private life has stopped being private. My children are in turmoil, and dozens of unknown numbers are calling. What else can I say?”
