From 38°C to 18°C - Weather rollercoaster ahead

Clear skies and surging winds today

Newsroom

In the world of weather, today's forecast promises a mix of tranquility and change. As the day begins, the skies will be predominantly clear, offering a canvas of blue above. However, nature's elements are not one to remain stagnant.

At the outset, the winds hold a variable nature, blowing at a gentle 3 Beaufort. Yet, their allegiance is fickle, as they will slowly transition to a more assertive southwestern to northwestern direction, reaching a moderate 3 to 4 Beaufort strength. Along the Windward Coast, winds may temporarily escalate to locally moderate levels, reaching 4 Beaufort.

Over the waters, a sense of calm prevails, though hints of turbulence loom on the horizon. The sea, for now, maintains its composure, but slight turbulence is anticipated as the day unfolds.

Temperatures tell their own story, with variations that paint a diverse picture of the day's heat. In the interior, the mercury climbs to a toasty 38 degrees, while the South, East, and North coasts bask in a milder 33-degree warmth. Along the West Coast, the thermometer hovers around 31 degrees, and in the lofty Highlands, a cooler 28-degree climate prevails.

As the day surrenders to night, tranquility continues to dominate the weather scene. The nocturnal sky remains mostly clear, studded with stars.

But in the quiet of the early morning hours, a subtle transformation occurs. Along the coastal areas, patches of sparse fog or low-lying clouds may form, adding an ethereal touch to the landscape.

Winds, too, undergo a shift in their nocturnal choreography. They predominantly blow from the northwest to the northeast, with a gentle 3 Beaufort breeze caressing the north coast. Over the sea, the waters maintain their relative calm, interrupted only by minor turbulence.

As the night deepens, temperatures take a dip. In the interior, the warmth retreats to around 19 degrees, while coastal regions rest at approximately 20 degrees. The higher mountainous areas experience a cooler 18-degree embrace.

Looking ahead to the midweek, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday hold the promise of mostly clear skies. However, nature's unpredictability keeps us on our toes.

During the midday hours and beyond, expect the emergence of cloud formations, which may deliver sporadic rainfall to the mountains. By Thursday afternoon, an isolated storm may make its presence known, particularly in the Highlands and the Southeast.

The mercury, although on a downward trajectory, maintains a twist in its tale. While temperatures are expected to gradually decline until Thursday, they will stubbornly remain above the average climatic values for this season.

In the ever-changing tapestry of weather, one thing remains constant - the need to stay vigilant and adaptable in the face of Mother Nature's whims.
