In a jaw-dropping move that has stunned the football world, former Chelsea and Brazil star David Luiz has signed with Pafos FC, bringing global star power to the shores of Cyprus.

At 38, the curly-haired center-back is no stranger to the big stage; he’s won the Champions League, Premier League, Europa League, and even the Copa Libertadores. He’s played for football giants like Chelsea, Arsenal, PSG, and Flamengo, and now, he’s headed to Peyia, where he’ll be accommodated by Korantina Homes at Cap St. Georges Hotel and Resort.

That’s right. David Luiz is officially a Pafos FC player, signing a contract that runs through 2027, a major scoop for the Cypriot club as they prepare to compete in Champions League qualifiers.

“It’s the biggest moment in Cypriot football,” the club said in their announcement, and frankly, they’re not wrong. Having a global name like Luiz wear a Pafos shirt is a first for football in Cyprus.

Luiz’s career speaks for itself:

  • 57 caps for Brazil
  • Over 700 matches played professionally
  • Titles in England, France, Portugal, and South America
  • Goals, trophies, drama, and, of course, those unforgettable curls

He’s known for his flashy style, booming long-range shots, and his larger-than-life presence both on and off the pitch. In Cyprus, he’ll bring more than experience; he’ll bring attention.

Pafos FC is clearly going big. With a swanky new signing, Champions League hopes, and sponsors rolling out red-carpet accommodations, they’re making it clear: this is not your average Cypriot football season.

And while some fans might be wondering if Luiz is here to retire in the sun, the man himself seems ready to get to work.

After all, he didn’t come all this way to sit on the beach.
