A warm air mass is settling over the region, sending temperatures soaring and the heat isn’t done with us yet.
Today’s forecast calls for mostly clear skies. Winds will start out from the northwest to north at light to moderate strength (3 to 4 Beaufort) before gradually shifting to blow from the southwest to northwest, with similar intensity. Seas will be mostly calm to slightly choppy. Inland areas can expect the thermometer to hit 35°C, while coastal regions will be a bit cooler, around 28°C on the west coast and 30°C elsewhere. Up in the mountains, temperatures will hover near 25°C.
Tonight, clear skies will continue. Winds will ease in from the northwest to northeast, staying light to occasionally light-moderate (3 to 4 Beaufort), and the sea will remain mostly calm. Overnight lows will dip to around 22°C inland and along the coast, and down to a cooler 14°C in the mountains.
Looking ahead to Thursday through Saturday, the clear, sunny stretch will continue and so will the warming trend. Temperatures are expected to rise steadily, climbing well above the seasonal norm.
