A moderate earthquake was recorded early on Thursday morning, June 5, in the sea area between Cyprus and Turkey. The tremor occurred at 07:32 local time and, according to preliminary data from the Euro-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC), it measured 4.1 on the Richter scale.

The epicenter of the earthquake was located offshore, in the eastern Mediterranean region, between the southern coast of Turkey and the northern coast of Cyprus. The focal depth of the quake was estimated at 75.3 kilometers, indicating it originated deep within the Earth's crust.

Although the earthquake was not particularly strong in magnitude, its depth and location meant that it was felt in several nearby areas. According to user-submitted reports on the EMSC website, the tremor was most noticeably felt in Alanya, a coastal city in southern Turkey. No reports of damage or injuries have been issued at this time.

Authorities are continuing to monitor the situation, and seismologists are reviewing the data to determine if any aftershocks may follow.

More updates will follow as additional information becomes available.
