Monday forecast: We’re still tired, but at least it’s only 37°c

Mild heatwave continues, but hey, it’s not 40!

Newsroom

It’s Monday morning and yes, we’re already exhausted. Pro tip for the next life: maybe don’t have kids. But hey, we’re clinging to the small victories, like the fact that today’s high is a mere 37 degrees. (ONLY 37! Can you believe our luck?)

We’ve got a seasonal low-pressure system hanging out over the region, which sounds fancy but mostly means the sun will play peekaboo later. The morning skies will be mostly clear, but expect some clouds to crash the party this afternoon, especially if you’re in the mountains. They might even bring a few surprise showers.

Winds will start from the northeast to east, light to moderate (3–4 Beaufort), but if you're in the breezier spots, expect a bit more attitude (up to 5 Beaufort). By the afternoon, the winds get indecisive and swing around to the southeast and southwest. Either way, it’ll be a good day to pretend you understand the Beaufort scale.

The sea will be a bit moody; nothing dramatic, just slightly rough. Temps will max out at 37°C inland, 32°C along the coast, and a refreshing 27°C if you happen to be frolicking in the highlands.

Tonight: Mostly clear skies will stick around for the night shift. Winds calm down to a gentle 3 Beaufort from the northwest and northeast (plus a cheeky southeasterly along the northern coast). Expect it to cool down to 20°C inland, 22°C by the sea, and a brisk 17°C up in the mountains, basically perfect sleeping weather, if you’re not being kicked in the ribs by a toddler.

Coming Up This Week:
Tuesday through Thursday will be more of the same, mostly clear skies and a slow but steady climb in temperatures. We’ll stay just a bit toastier than average for this time of year, but hey, at least there’s no meteorological drama brewing. Yet.

Stay cool out there. And maybe take a nap. We’re all in this together.
