Hollywood actor Matt Damon found himself amidst a hoax bomb scare on Saturday night while vacationing on the Greek island of Mykonos with his wife, Luciana Barroso.

The Mykonos Police Sub-Directorate received an anonymous email at 11:00 PM, falsely claiming that explosive devices had been placed in four popular beach bars. The island, known for its vibrant nightlife, was bustling with an estimated 4,000 tourists at the time of the scare.

Bar owners were immediately instructed to lower music levels and guide patrons to the exits calmly. Damon, who has been on the island for a week with his family, was present in one of the targeted venues and was among those evacuated. Social media footage showed the 53-year-old actor remaining composed and cooperative as he followed evacuation procedures.

In the Paranga area, where two of the affected beach bars are located, the evacuation led to significant traffic congestion as patrons rushed to leave the scene. One bar owner described the situation to the Greek news outlet Protothema, stating, "Upon receiving notification from the police, we promptly reduced the music and calmly guided our guests to safety. It was a challenging situation, but we managed to maintain order."

Local authorities later confirmed that the bomb threat was a hoax. Despite the false alarm, the incident caused a temporary disruption and highlighted the responsiveness of local emergency services.

Damon has been enjoying a holiday in Mykonos with his wife Luciana and their four daughters, Alexia, 25, Isabella, 18, Gia, 15, and Stella, 13. The family has been spotted around the island, relishing their summer break.

This incident comes shortly after Damon attended his daughter Isabella's graduation in Brooklyn. The actor's family life has often been in the spotlight, with Damon and Barroso meeting in 2003 and marrying in a private civil ceremony in New York in 2005. Despite the scare, the family continues to make the most of their European holiday.

The Mykonos incident serves as a reminder of the occasional disturbances that can affect even the most idyllic vacation spots, but it also underscores the importance of prompt and efficient emergency responses to ensure public safety.
