New voters registered ahead of upcoming elections in Cyprus are being asked to collect their electoral booklets in the coming days, as authorities move to ensure everyone is ready to cast their vote.
The Ministry of Interior announced that electoral booklets for voters added to the supplementary electoral roll on April 2, 2026, have now been prepared and sent out for distribution.
According to officials, the booklets have been forwarded to local community leaders and parish officials, who will handle collection and delivery to voters or their family members.
Collection through communities
The booklets will remain with community mayors until Thursday afternoon, May 21, 2026. After that, they will be returned to district offices, where voters will still be able to pick them up, even on Election Day itself.
The system is designed to make access easier, especially for those who may not collect their documents in time through their local community.
Lost or damaged? There’s a fix
Officials also clarified that voters who lose or damage their electoral booklet will be able to request a replacement.
Replacement documents can be issued at district governor offices until Saturday, May 23, 2026, at 2 p.m.
What voters need to know
Authorities are reminding the public that voters do not necessarily need their booklet alone to vote. Identification is also accepted. Citizens can cast their ballot by presenting either their electoral booklet or their official political identity card. The ministry is urging voters to make sure they are prepared ahead of time, especially as election day approaches and offices become busier.
