Many areas in the capital will be left without water on Friday due to repair work on the water main in Strovolos, the second big challenge for Nicosia crews this year.
According to the Cyprus News Agency, the Water Board of Nicosia is carrying out repair work on the main underground pipe on Diagorou Street.
Due to the repairs, water will be shut off for the day between 6am and 6pm, according to officials, affecting Strovolos residents living in areas including the Public Housing Complex II and the municipality’s industrial zone, as well as Latchia residents starting from the Nicosia General Hospital area through the Agios Georgios hilltop.
The water cuts will also affect areas in Aglandjia near the Cyprus Broadcasting Corporation behind Nicosia General.
A similar damage earlier this year had affected a larger area including Strovolos, but also greater Nicosia, including Engomi and Agios Dhometios on the western part of town.
