In a landmark achievement, the number of passengers passing through Larnaca and Paphos airports in the first seven months of 2024 has surged by 4.42% compared to the same period last year, setting a new record for the island.

According to a press release from the Ministry of Transport, Communications, and Works, July 2024 alone saw a notable increase in passenger traffic, with 1,496,715 travelers, marking a 1.45% rise compared to July 2023.

The primary markets contributing to this surge include the United Kingdom, Greece, Poland, Israel, and Germany. This period from January to July 2024 not only witnessed record-breaking passenger numbers but also saw a rise in aircraft traffic. There were 10,226 flights during this period, reflecting a 2.8% increase from 2023.

The Ministry's announcement highlights the continuing appeal of Cyprus as a major travel destination and underscores the robust performance of its airport infrastructure in handling growing traffic volumes.
