Week starts calm, rain on the way

Clouds, wind, showers in the forecast, no major shifts in temperature

A weak, low pressure system is moving into the area over Cyprus with temperatures on a slight downward trend and midweek rain in the forecast.

Monday skies will be mostly clear in the early part of the day with increasing clouds in the early afternoon, mainly in the mountains, while strong winds are expected in the late afternoon.

Maximum highs are expected to reach 34° degrees Celsius inland, 30 on the eastern cost and in the south, around 29 in the north and out west, while it will be 24 up in the mountains.

Evening weather is expected to be mostly clear with scattered low clouds in the north and out west. Minimum lows will be 18 degrees in the interior and in the north, around 20 on the western coast, 21 in all other coastal regions, while it will be 11 up in the mountains.

Tuesday weather is expected to be mostly clear but afternoon clouds over local areas in the mountains are also included in the forecast.

Midweek rain chances

Wednesday skies will be mostly clear in the early part of the day while clouds at noon and increasing clouds thereafter could possibly bring isolated showers mainly in the mountains as well as in the interior.

More late night rain chances will further develop over increasing clouds in the north and out west, while Thursday weather is expected to remain partly cloudy with chances of isolated showers.

Temperature is not expected to fluctuate noticeably over the next three days, with levels expected to remain close to normal averages for this time of the year.
