A 63-year-old woman from Romania is in the intensive care unit following a car accident in Limassol on Thursday around noon.
According to police, the accident took place around 2:45pm on Kapiliou-Ayios Mamas road in rural Limassol, when two cars driving in opposite directions crashed into each other. A vehicle driven by a 40-year-old Romanian national, with the 63-year-old woman as his front seat passenger, collided with a car driven by a 29-year-old Greek Cypriot woman.
The elderly woman suffered a punctured lung and a liver injury, along with multiple bone fractures, while the younger female suffered bruises and a broken nose.

Both women were taken to hospital for medical treatment, where the Romanian woman had to be admitted to the Intensive Care Unit due to her serious condition. The male driver was unharmed in the incident.
Authorities are investigating the accident, while a police report said the car driven by the man had crossed into the opposite lane under circumstances that are still unclear.
The incident is being investigated by the local police station at Lania.
