Authorities were alerted on Friday noon after a body was spotted floating in the sea near Liopetri in Famagusta.
Police said the body has been identified to be a 65-year-old amateur fisherman who suffered from health conditions.
Police think the man died of natural causes, ruling out the possibility of foul play, but cause of death will nevertheless be pinpointed.
