A joint naval exercise dubbed “Noble Dina” that prominently featured the Republic of Cyprus, Israel and Greece wrapped up successfully on Thursday, a Defence Ministry announcement said.
The exercise, held in a maritime area west of Cyprus since March 7, was led by Israel and also included France and the USA, and covered anti-submarine procedures, search and rescue scenarios, and a scenario simulating battle between ships.
The Defence Ministry said the Republic participated in all phases of the exercise through the ‘Ioannides’ vessel of the National Guard’s Naval Command, as well as through Larnaca’s Search and Rescue Coordination Center.
The Ministry said “Noble Dina” was particularly successful in providing participants with substantial and practical experience of joint operational training in various areas of common interest, in the framework of efforts to boost cooperation between neighbouring and friendly countries.
