Cyprus President Nikos Christodoulides announced that he will meet with the UN Secretary-General's envoy, María Ángela Holguín Cuéllar, on March 11 in Nicosia. Holguín Cuéllar is set to visit Cyprus for discussions next month.
The president affirmed the continuation of the "Cyprus problem team," emphasizing that he will convene the team when needed.
Christodoulides expressed his current focus on the upcoming meeting with Holguín, stating that their primary goal is to resume talks from where they were interrupted in Crans-Montana.
Cyprus has been divided since 1974, and previous UN-led peace talks have not led to a resolution. Holguín, appointed as the UN Secretary-General's envoy, will visit London in early March before returning to Cyprus for further discussions with community leaders.
