Rainfall in Cyprus has significantly exceeded typical April levels during the first part of the month, according to early figures from the Meteorology Department.
Between April 1 and 09:00 on April 20, the average accumulated rainfall reached 52.4 millimeters. This is well above the usual monthly average of 29.9 millimeters, meaning precipitation has already reached about 175% of what is normally expected for the entire month.
Several locations recorded particularly high totals. Platania received 93.5 millimeters, which is about 180% of its usual April level. Saittas followed closely with 91.3 millimeters, reaching 191% of normal. Stavros tis Psokas recorded 83.1 millimeters, equal to 145% of its average.
These figures are preliminary and may be updated as more data becomes available.
