The newly implemented e-justice system encountered severe operational challenges starting Monday, prompting the President of the Cyprus Bar Association, Michael Vorkas, to express serious concerns. Vorkas emphasized the system's pivotal role in the entire justice framework and stressed the urgency of addressing the issues promptly.
Speaking on the "DIASPORA NEWS" show, Mr. Vorkas stated, "There seem to be serious problems. As the Pancyprian Bar Association, we took a stand and issued a statement yesterday, sounding the alarm. We are not talking about a shop, we are not talking about a law firm only, we are not talking about an act that starts and ends today; we are talking about the whole justice system. We are hopeful and have received assurances again today that these problems will be resolved immediately. This cannot be tolerated for a long period of time."
The e-justice system, developed by the Ministry of Justice and the State Ministry of Research and Innovation, forms the backbone of the island's legal processes.
