Nicosia is gearing up to welcome the new El Greco Medical Center, set to open its doors in early March. The Government Health Insurance Organization (GHIO), known as GESY, is expanding its capacity with an additional 50 ward beds, an Dialysis Unit, an Intensive Care Unit, state-of-the-art surgical theaters, and a modern Nephrology Clinic.
According to sources from the Cyprus News Agency, pending any unforeseen developments, the GHIO Board is expected to approve the inclusion of this new hospital in GESY, with operations slated to commence on March 1st.
The El Greco Medical Center will feature a 50-bed capacity, including 7 beds designated for the Intensive Care Unit. Additionally, it will house a nephrology clinic with a 12-bed dialysis unit, interventional cardiology labs, radiology department, and clinical laboratory.
Sources indicate that esteemed physicians, with extensive experience both locally and internationally, have already signed on and will be part of the medical staff at the new capital city center.
Services offered by the new center will include pathology, cardiology, and surgical wards, a 24-hour Emergency Cardiology Care service, an Interventional Cardiology Unit, Arrhythmology and Electro-Physiology Unit, Coronary Care Unit (CCU), Intensive Care Unit (ICU), Endoscopy Unit, Radiology and Diagnostic department, fully equipped surgical theaters with cutting-edge technology, and fully trained staff, as well as a modern Nephrology Clinic.
Moreover, it is set to cover a range of specialties, including General Surgery, Pathology, Orthopedics, Otorhinolaryngology, and Urology.
The El Greco Medical Center, housed in a three-story building in Strovolos, spans a total area of 3,000 square meters, boasting state-of-the-art facilities and the latest in technology, while operating on a 24-hour basis, seven days a week.
