Israel announced yesterday that, following a panel of experts, it will offer a fourth dose of the Covid-19 vaccine to people over the age of 60, amid escalating concerns about the spread of the Omicron variant.
According to Prime Minister Naftali Bennett, the fourth dose will also be given to medical staff.
"The people of Israel were the first in the world to receive the third dose of the Covid-19 vaccine and we continue to lead the way with the fourth dose," Bennett said in a statement issued by the prime minister's office.
The Israeli prime minister urged those who meet the criteria to "go and be vaccinated."
