Mimi Kyprianou, wife of the late Spyros Kyprianou, passed away today, Monday (22/11), at the age of 89.
Mimi met Spyros Kyprianou during her studies in English Philology in London. Mimi and Spyros had two sons, Achilles and Marcos.
She was characterized by her simplicity, but also by the way she stood next to her husband. In fact, Spyros Kyprianou had publicly stated that he admired the way she raised their children since he did not stay at home much because of work.
In one of her rare interviews with Must in 2013, she had then stated that when she left the position of First Lady she felt free. She said, in fact, that she will never forget the love of the people and the way in which everyone embraced her.
