Travel plans were disrupted Friday at Larnaca International Airport, where dozens of flights were canceled, leaving passengers scrambling for alternatives.
Airport data shows 39 flights in total were canceled, including 22 arrivals and 17 departures, affecting routes between Cyprus and several major European cities.
Among the canceled incoming flights were services operated by Edelweiss Air, Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, and Emirates.
The affected arrivals included flights from Zurich, Munich, Frankfurt, Vienna, and Malta.
Several outbound flights from Larnaca were also scrapped, including departures to London, Zurich, Munich, Frankfurt, Vienna, and Malta.
The cancellations left many travelers at the airport seeking updates from airline counters and checking for alternative routes.
Airport authorities have not released further details on the disruptions, but the cancellations come as airlines across the region continue adjusting schedules amid heightened tensions and operational challenges affecting air traffic in parts of the wider Middle East and Eastern Mediterranean.
Passengers are advised to check directly with their airlines for the latest updates before heading to the airport, as schedules may continue to change throughout the day.
